Michael Schuetz

When I was a kid, my mother spent hours, days, and weeks working with old Victorian-style posters- distressing, burning, and gluing them onto slabs of wood, and finally, coating them with shellac to protect and preserve them. My work is influenced by my mom’s practice, and a by-product-stew of 1970s/80’s television, music videos, cartoons, Mad Magazine, skateboarding, and punk music.

As a sentimental, romantic, punk-rock rule breaker, with a flair for disciplined craft; I am left with conviction, to tell a story of faces that are “hadean ghosts in a limbo of solitude.”
